Takedown & content removal

Shop Madeira is a neighborhood directory and loyalty program for Madeira, Ohio. Most listings were imported from public sources before an owner claimed them, so occasionally something is wrong, outdated, or shouldn’t be here at all. This page explains how to ask us to fix or remove it, and what to expect after you do.
What you can ask us to do
- Correct a business’s name, hours, address, phone number, or description.
- Remove a photo or other content from a listing.
- Remove an entire business listing.
- Report content you believe is abusive, deceptive, or violates someone’s rights.
You don’t have to be the business owner to submit a request. Neighbors, owners, and anyone else can flag a problem.
How to submit a request
Use the takedown request form. Tell us which listing is affected and what you’d like changed or removed. If you’re the owner, say so, it helps us prioritize. You can also email takedowns@shop-madeira.com.
Our 48-hour commitment
We acknowledge every request by email and respond with a decision within 48 hours. Our system tracks the clock on each request and flags anything approaching that window so nothing slips. Clear-cut corrections and removals are usually handled the same day.
What happens after you submit
- You get an immediate acknowledgement email with a reference for your request.
- A person reviews it, verifying ownership or the nature of the issue where needed.
- We make the change, remove the content, or reply explaining why we can’t, all within the 48-hour window.
- Removed content stays removed; we keep a minimal internal record for audit purposes.

Repeat or bad-faith requests
We honor good-faith requests quickly. We may decline or rate-limit requests that are duplicative, knowingly false, or submitted to harass a business or another person.
